James 1:10 (NIV) states, "the rich should take pride in their humiliation." Medical professionals are among the better-paid half of our society. Our attitudes about wealth are so easily shaped by American culture and values, even those of us who work with the poor. We'll discuss the spiritual implications of wealth and affluence and how we must renew our minds to live our financial lives as true disciples of Jesus and to think rightly about our less-financially-fortunate patients.

As high income earners, how can medical professionals protect themselves from the spiritual threats posed by their own affluence? And how does one pursue a career in ministry when saddled with student loan debt?

I am the Lord who heals you (Ex.15:26). Healing prayer provides faith benefits that enhance medical healing results. This way of treating encompasses whole person care, body, mind, and spirit. Therefore, healing prayer should not focus solely on bodily healing but integrate targeted prayers concerning root causes, which exacerbate medical illness, in addition to praying over the mind and spirit. This session will include cases and personal experiences related to my nursing career and being part of a healing prayer team. This session will also provide strategies for healing prayer that draw people to healing and to the heart of God.
