Human Trafficking, AKA modern day slavery, is the 2nd largest growing criminal activity, worldwide, generating billions of dollars annually. Thousands of men, women and children are trapped in forced labor and/or sex industry situations. They are denied the simple freedom of living life as they choose. Human trafficking affects every nationality, every race, every gender, and every socio-economic status across the US. Sadly, many have been treated in our hospitals and clinics and gone unrecognized as victims. We providers, have unique opportunities to offer much needed aid to these voiceless victims and to empower survivors.
